Luke is the protagonist of the Abyss game and thus he has to have a connection with pretty much everybody. Starting out his journey as a spoiled little brat with no manners, no sense of responsibility and ignorant of the world, Luke goes through the biggest personal metamorphosis. From the bratty, punk kid who really could have used a decent smack or two, Luke slowly started to change into a stronger persona. Mentally, he grew throughout the extent of the game from his seven year old self to the mature age that his body carried. He took responsibility for his actions instead of blaming everyone else, he tried his best to do what he thought was right and finally got around to making proper connections with people around him.

≅ peony connection ≅

Although Peony is obviously touched by Luke, he doesn't have much interaction with him. His ideals match Peony's and they both hold a strong sense of justice when it comes to the good of the people rather then the individual. Luke does a lot of tasks for Peony both in the main storyline and in side quests. Peony even named one of his rappigs after him. I believe that Peony's strongest connection to Luke, however, is through the prophecy about his birth and how his presence would bring both destruction and peace.

Both being main party members, Jade and Luke have plenty of interaction. However, the relationship between the two of them is rather strained at first. Jade simply cannot stand how much of an idiot Luke is and Luke can't seem to wrap his head around how one old man could really be so displeasing. Out of all the party members, the one most needing to be built upon is theirs. Jade refuses, actually, to not acknowledge any of Luke's growth through out the entire game. It isn't until the very bitter end that Jade seems to finally settle into the idea that, yes, Luke has finally grown up and understands what he's doing. Despite that it took the entire game to get Jade to respect Luke, it didn't take nearly as long for Luke. He may have still considered him a miserable old man (poor naive Luke was the butt end of a lot of Jade's bullying) but he quickly grew to respect Jade's vast knowledge, strength and importance.
