What is a fanlisting? A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a certain subject, meant to gather fans from all around the world. Fanlistings are completely free of charge and all the information that is required is a name and e-mail.
Who is Orochimaru? From the first time this series needed a villain outside of the character rivalries, there was this man. Orochimaru. One of the three great Sennin.
From day one we are introduced to his genius, his ability to manipulate people and get a taste of his strength. He is a
secluded man who only works for the benefit of himself
and his own goal. Of course, he has plenty of subordinates and followers but he doesn't feel any sort of attachment to them. They are disposable. He
does keep his most loyal piece, Kabuto, constantly at work but he is mainly just there to help Orochimaru during his periods of weakness. Oh yeah,
did I mention that Orochimaru has this crazy obsession with being immortal and all powerful? Yep, in fact, a good portion of his life was
dedicated to figuring out how one could become immortal.
He even went so far as to do experiments on fellow Konoha ninja until he was busted for it and fled the village. Although he couldn't figure out a scotfree, no strings attached version, Orochimaru figured out that one could keep their soul alive but had to ensure that the body was constantly changed. But they couldn't be just any body. Oh goodness no. For Orochimaru, one could only have the best. This was where his obsession with Sasuke Uchiha came into play and where a lot of his involvement in the series actually took place. He wanted Sasuke's body in order to claim the Sharingan ability, a physical eye trait passed down only through the Uchiha bloodline. This immortal ability, unfortunately, requires that a new body be swapped in at a minimum of three year intervals. Weaker bodies would start to break down by then and would cause Orochimaru a little too much trouble and he'd risk losing his life.
Aside from having figured out how to cheat death, Orochimaru is also a great master in the arts of the ninja. A lot of his abilities have to do with snakes which is very fitting for him and his snakelike persona but he is also perceived to have a very wide and vast knowledge of jutsu. Remember that thirst to be all powerful? Yeah, Orochimaru wanted to accomplish learning all the jutsu the world had to offer and although it is highly unlikely that such a task will ever be accomplished, there is no doubt that he has already learned and made up a good number of his very own jutsu. To say his arsenal was bursting at the seams would be a little unjustified. He is also able to summon up a great snake named Manda who is just as cruel as he is in that he is willing to harm anyone who gets in his way.
Not only is Orochimaru madly skilled but this son of a gun has his own village! That's right, you heard me. After running away from Konoha, Orochimaru took over a very small country and remade it as the Land of Sound, or rather, Otogakure. This is basically where he keeps all his followers and can get away with his crazy experiments as he is the higher authority there.
What is Naruto? It is a Japanese manga by the creative manga-ka Masashi Kishimoto. It is a story about a young ninja named Naruto who is shunned by his village due to a secret that is kept from only himself. As the tale continues, we get to see his struggle to show his worth, grow as a human being and all the trials and tribulations that filter into his life. Through out this series, we meet many interesting and lively characters and suddenly you will find yourself wrapped into the world of tactics, genjutsu and shuriken. Definitely worth a read if you haven't already.
